, Hi, my name is Jack Shepard I own and run Fourmilecreek kennel I apprecate the kind words that were said about me and my Labs my training and breeding of these wonderful dogs.I invite any one to come and see my Labs and go to the fields for a demo and see my Labs work.I have been training dogs for about forty years now .I have learned alot and Iam still learning.I don't have a big Kennel .I learned along time ago you can get to big and then you don't have time to train your Labs.I keep about five or six bitches and two studs and they all are good hunters.All my Labs are certified on their hip and elbows and eyes are cleared annually.I try to have about four litters a year.Iam retired and I spend all my time training Labs .I have done training seminars for Bass pro in Cincinnati.I do start training the pups at an early age.I have never had bad results at starting at an early age.I have alot of imformation for somebody that wants to learn and I 'll talk to you about breeding or training your Labs.I do have a litter of yellows do in Feb and maybe a black litter too. , Yes, I got my "Harley" (BLM) from Jack Shepard back in Oct '05.  He was recommended by a show dog breeder who lives down the road from me, he was the only field dog breeder and trainer I could find in this area (Southwest Ohio).

Jack breeds and trains for upland and his dogs and starter training is very good.  He does not believe in e-collars, I've not talked to him about force-fetching but I don't think he does it - he's not talked about it before.  Great natural obedience from his breeding.

Jack trains at a private reserve so he gets his dogs field training and birdy at a young age - pigeons and quail - and proves a soft mouth.  Jack will take you out there with his adult dogs, maybe even the sires or dams and show you their obedience, flushing and retrieving work.  There's a pond too so he'll do water retrieves too.  Depending on the age and how far along the starter training is he'll also take the pups to the field for your review.  That's what sold me on him and his dogs.

Although upland bred and trained Harley is a true waterdog.  No hesitation, jumps right in, swims and swims.  Smart dog, marks well and swims for it - even dunks his head underwater to look for a submerged mark.  No cold tail problems this year, I've hunted North Dakota as well as the Ohio River and East Fork Lake.

Harley is 2 now, 65 lbs and no health problems other than a little skin irritation/allergy at the end of last summer.  He spent every day in our pool, I think that was part of it.  Harley is very quiet, calm which is great in the truck, the boat or the field blind.  Great family dog too - typical lab... gives all his love to everyone.

I just had a vet check done, I'll quote my vet:  "A vet can build a practice with all the "SUV" labs people have, what you have here is a "Corvette" - great body and muscle structure, handsome head, great temperament.
